We have six secluded pitches along the River Thame (five for camping and one for a camper van). Each camping pitch has plenty of space with views of the river, a fire bowl and a private eco loo.
NEW for 2021: our camping pod is a snug space for two with a pullout bed and breakfast table and chairs. The pod has its own private access to the river and own eco loo. Pod bookings are now open for 8 May - 30 September.
Shared between the sites is a communal log cabin set within a little island in the river. It has a wood burning stove, campfire, hammock and deck with table and chairs. There are also two hot showers and a central water point for all campers.
We are proud to be a sustainable, off-grid campsite, (which means there are no electrical hookups) so you can really get back to nature during your stay.
‘So much space for each pitch and very few pitches. The location is very quiet and peaceful. The individual compost loos. The river swimming. Excellent BBQ packs (delicious steaks!) Owners are very friendly. Welcome pack included in price contains wood and each pitch has its own fire pit with grill.’
What to do
Many of our campers never leave the site, as there’s so much to do! We have two kayaks to borrow, wild swimming, den building, tree climbing and footpaths for countryside walks. You can purchase farm-fresh produce for campfire cooking and we’re also within walking distance of two local pubs, The Crown in Stadhampton and The Lamb Inn in Little Milton.
We’re easy to get to - only four miles from Junction 7 on the M40 - and easy to go out exploring during the day. Within a short drive there’s:
- The city of Oxford, full of historic buildings, world-class museums and great places to eat out.
- Oxford Wet n Wild outdoor waterpark
- Waterperry Gardens, beautiful ornamental gardens with a tea room and garden shop
- The River Thames where you can join cycle paths in/out of Oxford
D’Oyleys Farm is a regenerative farm where we sell our own pasture-raised beef, lamb and chicken. Campers can purchase our breakfast hampers (bacon, sausages, eggs) and BBQ packs (steak, burgers, lamb-chops, chicken drumsticks) all with produce direct from our farm.
‘Definitely recommend the bbq packs and breakfast pack the bacon is lush…’
Email email@example.com with the dates you would like to book. Bookings include the cost of your pitch per night and welcome bag with logs when you arrive. You can also purchase breakfast and BBQ hampers to have ready for your arrival.
‘Quiet, isolated beautiful setting. Extremely friendly and welcoming. Clean facilities. Took the canoes out for a paddle, had an impromptu swim but a lovely hot shower after!’
‘What a brilliant place!! We were camped over two pitches with an enormous field to ourselves & direct access to the river. So much space! Sharing a farm with cows, foxes, pheasants & beautiful night sky it truly feels like you’re far away from city life.... yet it’s only a stone’s throw from central Oxford! The holt is a superb idea & a lovely place to shelter or relax. Welcome pack with a map & all the essentials (including wood & a fire pit) made it perfect!’
