Our Turkeys

Our family has been raising free-range Norfolk Bronze turkeys for the holidays for over 60 years. It's what we are most well known for locally and we sell hundreds of birds for Christmas feasts around South Oxfordshire.

Our turkeys are slow-grown, living much longer than any supermarket bird. They arrive as day-olds on the farm and live in our pastures with the shelter of a barn to sleep in at night. They have grass underfoot and straw bales for perching and keeping watch. We feed them a natural diet that is supplemented by the plants and bugs they are able to forage on the farm.
We dry-pluck our turkeys by hand and hang them to develop the flavour. We recommend allowing 500g per person, plus a little more if you like to enjoy leftovers. All of our turkeys are delivered fresh.

This year for once again we will be stocking birds reared by our son Nick who works for Ed Walters at Bower Farm, Aldworth; the turkeys are hand-reared and home -grown Bronze, only half an hour away from our farm. His rearing and finishing ethics match ours so we are delighted to be working alongside him on this venture.

“I would just like to say a huge thank you for the fabulous turkey once again this past Christmas. It was a truly magical feast with the turkey being the centre piece.”
“Just a quick email to say how absolutely delicious our turkey was. Whilst I tried to convince my family it was down to my culinary skills, I have no doubt that it was really due to the fantastic bird we bought from you. The meat was so flavoursome and beautifully moist. We'll be ordering from you again next year.”

Taste matters, and we believe high quality meat comes from happy animals who are free to roam and graze pasture outside as nature intended.

D’Oyleys Farm has been farmed by the White family for three generations, and we've always seen ourselves as stewards of the land first and foremost.

We are embracing regenerative farming practices, starting by improving the health of the soil, increasing biodiversity and reducing our carbon footprint below net zero. This approach goes beyond sustainable, aiming to make a positive impact and to hand over the farm and land in a better state to future generations.
